What is phased array (electronically scanned) radar?
Phased array radar (PAR), also known as phase controlled electronically scanned array radar, is a radar array composed of a large number of identical radiation units. Each radiation unit is independently controlled by wave control and phase shifter in phase and amplitude, and can obtain accurate and predictable radiation pattern and beam direction. Phased array radar is an advanced radar form developed in the military field in recent years because of its ability to quickly and accurately convert beams, which enables the radar to complete the whole airspace scanning in 1min. Generally speaking, phased array radar does not need mechanical structures such as turntable or slide rail. It directly uses electronic scanning to achieve the same functions, and is faster, more stable, more reliable and lighter. Phased array radar is the development direction of slope radar in the future.
